Medical Simulation Equipment

FULL BODY SIMULATORS
Full body simulators are life-sized, computer-controlled manikins that can be used at any training level. These simulators allow scenarios to be programmed for reproducible, consistent training or research. The simulators can also be used in team training.

SimMan 3G®
  • This wireless adult simulator can display ECG, pulse oximeter (SpO2), invasive arterial blood pressure, CO2, central venous pressure, pulmonary artery and wedge pressures, temperature, and non-invasive blood pressure.

    Other functions include:  
    • Ability to sweat, cry, foam at the mouth, and drool.
    • Pupil responses to light: blinkings at slow, normal and fast rates: winking: and open, partially open and closed reactions.
    • Ability to detect chest compressions.
    • Ability to administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections in the deltoid, gluteal and thigh areas.
    • Ability to intubate and mechanically ventilate.
    • Ability to auscultate and modify heart, lung, and bowel sounds.
    • Ability to palpate carotid, femoral, brachial, and radial pulses.
    • Ability to simulate a difficult airway.
    • Allows needle and surgical cricothyrotomy  
    • Bronchial tree is anatomically realistic in size, color and texture with anatomical landmarks necessary for fiberoptic bronchoscopy.
    • Can be programmed to “talk.”
    • Ability to do needle decompression

  • Ability to detect chest compressions.
  • Ability to intubate and mechanically ventilate.
  • Respiratory depth and rate, and complications such as retractions and see-saw breathing can be manipulated.
  • Ability to osculate heart, lung, and bowel sounds.
  • Ability to palpate  femoral, brachial, and radial pulses.
  • Ability to manipulate airway for laryngospasm, tongue edema, and pharyngeal swelling .
  • Ability to cry, moan, and coo
  • During hypoxemia will become cyanotic
  • Fontanel can be adjusted to present as normal, sunken, or bulging

TASK TRAINING MODELS
Task training models are designed to teach specific tasks, procedures, or give the ability to perform an exam on a specific anatomic region.

MegaCode Kelley
  • For ALS and ACLS training
  • Airway allows for insertion of standard airway devices including endotracheal tube,  LMA, combitube  and King Airway
  • 1,400+ cardiac rhythms with synchronized pulses allows students to interpret and intervene using defibrillation, pacing, and drug administration
  • Use of clinical monitors, defibrillators, and external pacers for practice of live interventions
  • Instructor-controlled blood pressure arm
  • Chest tube insertion can be practiced at the left mid axillary site, at the 4th and 5th intercostal spaces.
Resusci Anne
  • For CPR and BLS training
  • Ability for Head tilt/chin lift and jaw thrust.
  • Occluded airway with hyperextension.
  • Realistic resistance for chest compression.

CLEO (Clinical Learning Experience in Ophthalmoscopy)

Model head with ports for viewing wide angle fundus slides with retro-illumination.

  • Provides realistic view of wide angle 35mm slides of actual patient fundi
  • Promotes progressive skill  development,  view through one dilated and one un-dilated pupil
  • Reinforces proper positioning and focusing of ophthalmoscope to view
  • Provides mechanism to practice funduscopic skills without patient discomfort
  • Practice slide teaching set exposes students to  a full range of commonly encountered pathology
Intubation Head (Adult)
  • Realistic lifting, tilting, movement of the head, cervical spine and jaw.
  • Practicing of oral and nasal intubation
  • Practicing use of LMA (Laryngeal Mask Airway) and Combitube®
  • Correct tube placement can be checked by practical inflation test

Intubation Head (Neonate)
  • Ability to Intubate (oral and nasal)

Catheter Trainer

Central Venous Simulator

    • Arterial anatomy includes the right carotid artery, subclavian artery, and axillary artery
  • Artificial clavicle for realistic subclavian vein access using supraclavicular or infraclavicular approaches 
  • Includes the SVC and RA allowing for full threading of guidewires and catheters
Intraosseaous Trainer
  • Intraosseaous needle insertion

  •  Replaceable pads are prefilled with simulated bone marrow
